Couple of incredible knocks when the game was pretty much gone. We did a lot of good stuff. Holden showed his class and put us under pressure. Sam Curran?the way he is playing right now, he is one of the best players in the?world according to me. Pretty much carbon?copy both teams and quality?striking. To have the?quality of someone?like Raza at 7 and Scotty Kuggeleijn at 8 and even Qais at 9, who can strike it. Lots of conversations?and to have bowling and batting options gave us a lot of flexibility. [on the owners] Huge amount. 16-17 years and their first?trophy. Two great human beings. Got my first opportunity in the IPL in 2015, two nice genuinely?people and very calm. They deserve it more than anyone. [on Raza] Quality cricketer, three-dimensional. When you win a tournament, it is not down to one person and it is down to the squad. High pressure moments and to do it in a final is such a big thing. I moved my flight a bit later. The popularity of the tournament has grown over the last three years and that's why you play in the big finals. This venue is great, when it is packed it is as loud as it gets. Sam Curran | MVP of the tournament: Reasonably?flat right?now. Amazing game and a small accolade, tough to take when you lose. It is one of the most enjoyable teams I have been in my career. A thoroughly professional setup and hopefully one better next year. Lots of coaching staff and players I knew, taking on those?roles and being adaptable?with the ball. The Capitals have had a few wins over us in the?group stage, thought?we had a really good score on the board?but extremely?proud of the?team and the coaching staff. It's just?the professionalism and the family feel, we got to be really proud of ourselves and hope to go one better next year.

Rovman Powell | Player of the Match: It feels really good. Did not get many chances earlier but I keep believing, when it is crunch?time, crunch players come to the party. We have done a lot of work back?home, credit to the coaching team, we have a fantastic?camaraderie in the group. You need to have a little bit of luck and I got it. It is about control and I got the boundaries. I'm captain of my country and lots of guys look up to me. I'm from a humble background and to be playing a final in Dubai is a privilege.

Ian Bell | Capitals' Coaching staff: Has been a fantastic tournament. Credit to the players. The talent they showed through the back end was fantastic. From a coaching POV, you want to be as calm as possible. We have done well as a batting unit. Sikandar has been up and down the batting order, he has been very selfless and today he came through for the team. You just trust the players, we have been under pressure but in big games you accept the other teams will play well, it comes down to how you handle the big moments.

Sikandar Raza: Feel really proud, amazing and humble. We have grafted for three years. We got to an eliminator and a final. The lessons we learnt from the last finals got us through in this one. I wasn’t having a great tournament but nobody ever doubted me, they backed me with bat and ball. We have a good culture and character in the changing room. One thing that helps me is clarity, at no point the management doubted me. The emotional side of the game gives me energy, it isn’t out of anger or desperation, it just fuels me to do better. I am happy to do whatever role the team gives me after playing so much cricket. The clarity of the role makes it easier. (On where are the celebrations) I have an early flight tomorrow. I’ll probably celebrate in Zimbabwe, we have an ODI series against Ireland but I’ll certainly be joining the team for a few hours.

David Warner: The most important thing was to do it for the GMR family. They have worked hard, got to lots of finals. Credit to them. Lots of confidence in this side. Serious talent in the lower and middle order, and our bowlers have done a hell of a job. We backed ourselves in the middle overs, we knew we could take their spinners on. We have played a few games on this pitch so we knew how to pace ourselves for the chase.

Gulbadin Naib: The greatness of the tournament is that sometimes you perform, sometimes you don’t. I couldn’t today but I gave my 110% throughout the tournament, today was a full team effort from the boys. The management has given us all the confidence, we have all power hitters in the team. Credit to Sikandar for the way he took us through tonight. This franchise has been getting to finals but not winning, so glad we could give them what we could.

Rovman Powell: Credit to the guys in the dressing room, the message was to just stay calm. The competition has been silent for me, but today in the final I wanted to prove myself. In the final, big players stand up. I’m disappointed to get out but glad we got through. I’ve been in a lot of finals, we were in a final last year. Lots of credit to the owners. They haven’t won a final for 17 years. Great night for the GMR family.

When he came in the equation was 38 off 19 and then Powell got out which made it more difficult. It could have been so so different had Azam Khan not got the gloves in front when he got Powell on 2. That proved to be a big turning point as the Jamaican smoked a 38-ball 63 which kept the required rate under limits and then handy cameos from Shanaka and that innings from Raza finished it off. Earlier, Amir and Payne took three early wickets and reduced the Capitals to 31/3, Shai Hope once again did well with a composed knock before he got out.
