Wanindu Hasaranga | Kandy captain: I trust Dasun and Kamindu like always. He got runs in the first game and then did not get anything at all after that but I trust him. We all know what Dasun is capable of and he did it today. We know what he can do with the lower order and he finished a lot of games for Sri Lanka as well. Credit goes to the bowlers, they bowled really well especially with the new ball and batters finished it.

Today we were short by 10-15 runs. Kamindu and Dasun played really good cricket and wish all the three teams good luck. Kamindu Mendis | Player of the Match: Was a very good game, credit goes to every bowler who bowled from both teams. When I went into the middle, we were 60/5 and we looked for a partnership. Our plan was to stay positive and I still believed that we could finish the game.

The top-order did not fire and it was left to the calm Kamindu who played a responsible innings. Shanaka came in and took the pressure off Kamindu with a couple of sixes and the asking rate was kept under control. The stand of 69 rescued Kandy who were 83/6 at one stage. Just when it looked the game was done, Shanaka and Kamindu fell off consecutive balls to give Colombo hope. Pathirana had the chance to end it as he was getting appreciable reverse-swing but he failed to nail his yorkers and the job was completed by Ramesh Mendis in the 19th over.
