EA has finally given in and revealed when we'll get our first look at the new, long-rumored Need for Speed title, announcing that the game's reveal trailer will be shown off on October 6. You'll be able to tune into the official Need for Speed YouTube channel to see the reveal for yourself this Thursday at 8am PT/5pm CEST.

As for what will be revealed, it's been heavily rumored for quite a while that this new Need for Speed will feature a less serious art style, as alleged gameplay footage that leaked back in August very briefly showed off some animated effects firing off of a car. It has also been reported that the game will actually launch this year, as this new Need for Speed is tipped for a December 2 launch for current gen and PC only.

Whatever this reveal trailer holds, it's almost certain that we'll finally get confirmation of the game's title. In fact, the previously rumored title - Need for Speed Unbound - was practically confirmed by EA itself earlier today, as an image in the Racing Video Games section of the publisher's official website displayed Need for Speed Unbound before it was very swiftly taken down. Seems like someone at EA is just as excited about Need for Speed as we are.

It's looking like a pretty big week for EA, as the publisher also announced that Wild Hearts - the collaboration between EA and Koei Tecmo - will be getting a fairly lengthy gameplay trailer on October 5. We got our first look at the Monster Hunter-inspired title last week, along with a release date of February 27, but this will be our first look at some gameplay and will let us know how Koei Tecmo plans to differentiate Wild Hearts from Capcom's iconic monster slaying franchise.
