Ranji Highlights: Dhull's rare twin hundreds and Mulani's seven-for

Top batting performances

In the middle of a high-scoring draw between Delhi and Tamil Nadu, Yash Dhull became only the third batsman to make a century in each innings (113 & 113*) on Ranji Trophy debut after Nari Contractor (152 & 102*) for Gujarat in 1952-53 & Virag Awate (126 & 112) for Maharashtra in 2012-13. Dhruv Shorey scored 107 alongside Dhull as Delhi finished Day 4 on 228/0 dec., forcing a high-scoring draw with Tamil Nadu although the latter picked points on the basis of a first-innings lead.

Dropped from the Test team, Cheteshwar Pujara responded with a fine innings of 91 off only 83 balls as Saurashtra, nine down by stumps, held Mumbai to a thrilling draw in Ahmedabad. The latter push came from the final batting pair of captain Jaydev Unadkat (32*) and Chetan Sakariya (10*) as Shams Mulani's 7-wicket haul fell short of getting Mumbai over the line.

Top bowling performances

Needing six wickets to beat Andhra, Rajasthan found a hero in Shubham Sharma who picked 4 for 32 and fetched all six points for his side.

Telukupalli Ravi Teja picked a 6 for 41 as Hyderabad registered an outright win against Chandigarh in Bhubaneshwar. Starting Day 4 on 21/2, needing 380 runs to win, Chandigarh lost regular wickets to the Chinntla Rakshann Readdi and Teja, the duo combining to pick nine of the 10 wickets to fall.

Satyajeet Bachhav's 7 for 45 helped Maharashtra bowl Assam out for 160 only in the follow-on innings and register a win by an innings and 7 runs in Rohtak.

Coming back from first-innings deficit...

Madhya Pradesh might have conceded a first-innings deficit but they came back in style, bowling out Gujarat for 88 on the final day. Kumar Kartikeya starred with the ball with figures of 5 for 34 after Shubham Sharma's 103 not out earlier in the day helped set a workable target of 195.

Bengal buried the ghosts of 88 all out in the first innings with a fantastic run-chase of 349 in the second. Needing 203 more runs to win on the final day, Bengal lost early wickets but Shahbaz Ahmed (71*) and Abhishek Porel (53*) combined to add an unbeaten 108 runs for the seventh wicket.

Draws

Despite Sakibul Gani's record triple century, Bihar had to settle with a draw against Mizoram in Kolkata. Taruwar Kohli hit an impressive 101* in the follow-on innings as Mizoram finished on 199/4.

Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha played out a draw in Gurgaon. Starting Day 4 at 32 for 2, UP finished the day at 250/6, with Rinku Singh finishing on 62 not out although Vidarbha picked the first-innings lead.

Starting the day precariously placed at 151/5 against Punjab, Himachal Pradesh finished the day on 402/8, with Akash Vashish (140) and Praveen Thakur (103*) hitting hundreds.

Karnataka set a 278-run target for Railways but there wasn't enough time left to force a result, with Railways finishing the game at 69/4
