Century for Kohli and India win

The last few overs were all about Virat getting to his century. Rahul was on 33 when Kohli was batting on 73. But then a six from Virat at that stage entertained hopes of a century. KL duly obliged by not going for the big shots as Kohli farmed strike, fetched boundaries and finished the game with a six to bring up another century in ODI cricket. India make it 4 in 4.

Shreyas departs

He wanted to take on the spinner and smash one into the stands but Shreyas Iyer completely mistimes the shot and is caught. Mehidy gets his second wicket and that brings out KL Rahul. Remember, Hardik can't bat unless the fifth wicket falls.

Gill falls

He timed this well but Mahmudullah still judges it to perfection near the boundary ropes. That's a massive wicket for Bangladesh. Gill departs soon after scoring his fifty and now the bowling side should try and pick one more to put pressure on India. The hosts are still in total control of this run chase.

He will savour this one. It's his first 50 in World Cups. Shubman has batted well today and has put India on top of this run chase alongside Virat Kohli.

Hasan Mahmud has persisted with the short ball to Rohit and he has been rewarded. He was just hit for a six by the Indian skipper but he also gets out attempting to put another short ball beyond the ropes. He falls for 48 and has given India a very good platform yet again.

Similar start

After 10 overs, India are 63/0. Bangladesh also made an identical score when they batted. Gill just hit a couple of sixes in a single over to catch up on his SR. India are looking very strong at the moment.

Rohit off to a flier again

This has been a regular occurrence in India's World Cup campaign. Except for the game against Australia, Rohit has delivered in the powerplay consistently and once again he has taken his chances against Bangladesh to race to 31 off just 19 balls. Bangladesh need to get rid of him soon.

The last ball was hit for a six but the over was terrific over from Bumrah. Bangladesh finish with 256/8. They didn't look like getting closer to that after Rahim's wicket but Mahmudullah came up with a few lusty blows at the death to drag his side past 250.

Blinder

Jaddu takes a superb diving catch and Bangladesh have been handed a massive blow. Mushfiqur Rahim has to walk back and India have their sixth wicket. Will be quite a miracle if Bangladesh manage to score even 250 from here.

Another one

Hridoy wasn't comfortable right from the outset and he decides to take on Shardul Thakur, only to perish. The idea was right but not the execution. Bangladesh really need Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur to bat through and help them post a challenging score.

Shocking from Litton

The team management would be absolutely livid with him. Bangladesh have lost three quick wickets after that great start so they definitely needed the well-set Litton to bat deep into the innings. But the opener wants to take on Jadeja, mistimes and is caught in the deep. Bangladesh are in trouble now at 137/4.

India are fighting back

Mehidy gets a faint tickle down the leg side and KL Rahul takes a stunning one-handed catch to send him packing. This has been an excellent phase for India striking at regular intervals. Bangladesh need a partnership. Towhid Hridoy is the new man in.

A 50 for Litton

He has a pretty good record against India and he has stepped up once again in this crucial game. Litton Das has looked good today and gets his half-century. With both Tanzid and Shanto gone, it's very important that Litton gets to bat a bit longer.

Wicket!!

Najmul Shanto has been in great form in ODIs off late but he has departed for just 8 today. He just didn't look comfortable right from the start and Jadeja's quicker delivery gets rid of him. India are slowly pulling things back. Mehidy Hasan is in at No.4.

Update on Hardik

The news from the dressing room is that Hardik will not be out on the field again in this innings. That's a massive blow for India who would have wanted a few overs out of him. But more importantly, it's a huge concern for the rest of India's campaign given how important Hardik is to this side. There are few players you cannot replace no matter what and Hardik is one of them.

Much-needed wicket

India have struck and it's no surprise that Kuldeep has stepped up to give his side the breakthrough. Tanzid wants to sweep the ball but he fails to make contact and is trapped plumb in front. India needed this quite badly. Najmul Shanto is the next man in.

50 for Tanzid

What a moment for young Tanzid Hasan. Getting to play in the World Cup because of Tamim Iqbal's absence and now he has made a fifty against India. This is his maiden fifty in international cricket and he has looked great so far. He did have a bit of luck early in his innings when India failed to take a review that would have sent him back but he has made it count.

Fantastic recovery for Bangladesh

Bangladesh have scored 63 in the powerplay!! You wouldn't have seen that coming given the start they made. They just couldn't get going against Bumrah and Siraj was moving the ball around as well. In the first five overs, Bangladesh scored just 10 runs but in the next five, they have smashed 53. Hardik Pandya is off the field with an injury so that will be a matter of concern for India. For now, they need to break this opening partnership.

Massive blow for Bangladesh as Shakib opts to sit out of this clash. Looks like he hasn't recovered completely. Najmul Shanto leads the team in his absence. Hello and welcome to the live blog of a fixture that has gained a lot of prominence over the years. It's India vs Bangladesh today from Pune. The 2007 World Cup fixture always springs to mind when these two teams meet. Since then India have managed to defeat Bangladesh in the following editions but they have also had some memorable fixtures over the years in other tournaments as well. Less than a year ago, Bangladesh managed to beat India in an ODI series back at home. They are a very formidable outfit in this format and even though they haven't made a good start to the World Cup, a win over India will do them a world of good.

It definitely won't be easy though given how India have played so far in the tournament. They are the only unbeaten team alongside New Zealand so far and that performance against Pakistan has rubber stamped their credentials as the favourite for the title. It will be interesting to see what sort of a surface will be presented today for this game in Pune. In case it's a proper batting deck, India will fancy their chances of registering their fourth straight win in this campaign. Hopefully, a good game is in store for us.
