Stats: Pakistan create history in Rawalpindi spinfest

- The Rawalpindi Test win has given Pakistan their first home series victort since January 2021. In this three-and-a-half period at home, they have lost a series to Australia (1-0), England (3-0), and Bangladesh (2-0) and drawn one against New Zealand (0-0). This win is also the first for Pakistan after three consecutive losses in Rawalpindi.

- This is only the second time Pakistan have won a three-match Test series after losing the first Test. They won the away series (2-1) against Zimbabwe in 1994/95 after losing the first match. This is also the first Test match on Pakistan soil that produced a result within three days since the 2002 Lahore Test between Pakistan and New Zealand.

- This is the first Test series win for Pakistan against England since November 2015, after drawing two consecutive series in 2016 & 2018 and losing two in 2020 & 2022. The nine-wicket victory is also the biggest win in terms of wickets for Pakistan against England in a home Test. In the Bazball era, this is only England's second series defeat - after the one in India earlier this year.

- England were bowled out for just 112 runs in their second innings in the Rawalpindi Test which is the second lowest for them against Pakistan in Tests. This is also England's joint fifth-lowest total in the sub-continent and lowest on Pakistan soil.

Sajid and Noman - the spin duo

- In this three-match Test series, 73 wickets fell to the spinners which is the most by them in a series played in Pakistan. The previous most was 71 wickets when New Zealand visited there in 1969/70. The Pakistani spin duo Sajid Khan (19/401) and Noman Ali (20/277) took 39 out of 40 wickets in the last two Tests. 43 wickets by Pakistan spinners in this series is also the joint third-most for them in a Test series.

- This is the first time Pakistan's pace bowlers have not bowled a single ball in a Test match and this is only the second instance in Tests that a team has not bowled a single over of pace in a whole Test match. The only other instance was when Bangladesh played with five spinners against West Indies at Mirpur in 2018. Earlier when Sajid and Noman opened the bowling, it was the first time on Pakistan soil that two spinners had bowled the first two overs of the match and overall for the fourth time in Test Cricket history.

- England's first innings in Rawalpindi was only the second time in Test history that no pace was bowled in the first innings of a match. The first time was way back in 1882 when Australia's Joey Palmer and Edwin Evans bowled 115 four-ball overs against England at the SCG. 18 wickets falling to spin is the joint-most across the first two innings of a Test in Pakistan with the 1984 Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Hyderabad (Sind).

- Earlier in the first innings, Pakistan's first bowling change happened after Sajid Khan and Noman Ali bowled 89.5 straight overs (14.2 overs from the first innings, 33.3 overs from the second innings in Multan, and the first 42 overs today of England's). That happened for the first time since 1965 that two opening bowlers have bowled as many as 42 overs before a first change.

- 6/128 by Sajid Khan in the first innings and 6/69 by Noman Ali in the second innings is the eighth time two Pakistani spinners have taken a five-wicket haul in the same match.

- This is the fourth time that all 20 opposition wickets were taken by Pakistan spinners in a Test match. The last match at Multan is the previous instance when this occurred.

- 10/197 by Sajid Khan in this Test is the joint second-best match bowling figure by a Pakistan bowler in Rawalpindi, and 6/69 by Noman Ali in the second innings is the best innings bowling figure by a spin bowler at this venue. Pakistan spinners picked all 10 wickets in the first innings - it was the sixth time they did so in the first innings of a Test and fourth time against England.

- 23* runs off 6 balls (SR: 383.33) by Shan Masood in the fourth innings while chasing against England in Rawalpindi is the first instance of a player scoring at 350+ strike rate while facing a minimum of six balls in a Test innings, where ball-by-ball data is available. The previous highest was Umesh Yadav's (310.0), when he scored 31 runs in 10 balls against South Africa in 2019.

- Earlier in Pakistan's first innings, Saud Shakeel scored 134 runs with 14.93 per cent runs from boundaries (5 fours only), which is the second-lowest percentage of boundaries by a Pakistan player in a Test innings with a minimum of 100-plus runs scored. The lowest is by Mohsin Khan (11.53 %) against England in the 1984 Lahore Test.

- Sajid Khan became only the third player in Test cricket history to pick 10 wickets and hit 4 sixes in the same Test match after Imran Khan (vs IND, 1983) and Abdul Qadir (vs ENG, 1987). The four sixes by Sajid Khan are the joint-most by Pakistan's number 10 batter in a Test innings, with Mushtaq Ahmed (vs SA at Rawalpindi 1997).
