Urvil Patel smashes another ton as Gujarat win five on the bounce

Gujarat's Urvil Patel followed up his record-shattering hundred last month with another century - a 41-ball unbeaten 115 against Uttarakhand to help Gujarat make it five wins in a row. The northern team posted a competitive total of 182/7 courtesy of contrasting-yet-brisk 54 each from Aditya Tare and Samarth R, and a 43 off 27 balls from Kunal Chandela, amidst a collapse on either side of this middle-order show. However, Urvil smacked 11 sixes and eight boundaries in yet another one-man show to take Gujarat over the line in just 13.1 overs for a rather comfortable 8-wicket win.
Bihar skipper Sakibul Gani's 56-ball 79 was overshadowed by Karan Lal's unbeaten 94 off 47 as Bengal overhauled the opponent's 147/6 in just 14 overs. Gani's was a one-man show until his dismissal in the 18th over, the captain finding the fence a dozen times during his stay but without a steady support at the other end. Abhisehk Porel gave Bengal a flying start with his 10-ball 19 before Lal took over. In the 122-run partnership for the second wicket, skipper Sudip Kumar Gharami contributed only 32* off 27 as Lal hit six sixes and nine more boundaries to keep Bengal ahead of the asking rate.
An unbeaten 85 from Shubham Khajuria helped J&K to their fourth win of the season as they beat Uttar Pradesh by 6 wickets in a tense Group C encounter. Chasing 148 for victory, J&K were helped by a 60-run opening partnership to lay the platform, and Khajuria kept at it even as the team momentarily lost track by slipping to 86/3. He found an ally in Abdul Samad, who chipped in a run-a-ball 22. Earlier, UP never really found any momentum as the batters kept throwing away their starts before a Shivam Mavi cameo - 45* off just 15 - rescued them to a respectable 157/6 from their 20 overs.
Blazing half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav (70 off 46) and Shivam Dube (71* off 36) helped Mumbai set up a 39-run win, their second on the trot and fourth of the season. Chasing a tall target of 193, Services were bowled out for 153 in 19.3 overs, thanks to an inspired spell of bowling from Shardul Thakur, who picked 4 for 25 and had a good accomplice in Shams Mulani (3 for 40).
Shreyas Gopal picked up a hat-trick that included the wickets of the Pandya brothers but Baroda still managed to seal a four-wicket win. Abhinav Manohar's 34-ball 56* had taken Karnataka to a par score, a total that looked far from defendable when Shashwat Rawat was going gung-ho at the top of the order. But his innings came to an end on 63 off 37 balls when Gopal struck with the first ball of the 11th over to remove him. Hardik and Krunal were dismissed off the next two balls as Gopal finished with 4 for 19. However, another twist was in store as Baroda managed to recover on the back of a handy partnership between Shivalik Sharma and Vishnu Solanki to seal the deal in the penultimate over.
Darshan Nalkande and Yash Thakur shared five wickets as Vidarbha were able to defend their total of 206/5 despite a 59-ball 98 from opener Anuj Tiwary. Chhattisgarh were bowled out for 190 with a ball left in the innings. Earlier, Vidarbha had got off to a relatively steady start before a big finish from Shubham Dubey (52* off 31) and Jitesh Sharma (38 off 14) delivered them past a total of 200.
Kerala were bowled out for 87 in 18.1 overs, thanks to KV Sasikanth's three-wicket haul, and they went on to lose by 6 wickets, doing their chances of qualification no good in the last league match. They would now want Andhra to beat Mumbai. Andhra chased the target in 13 overs, thanks to Srikar Bharat's 33-ball 56.
Half-centuries from Harvik Desai (55 off 34), Ruchit Ahir (56 off 30) and Sammar Gajjar (55* off 27) helped Saurashtra rack up 235/5, a total that proved enough for Tamil Nadu who could only muster 177/9 and collapsed to their fourth consecutive loss, with Chirag Jani laying into them with a three-wicket haul.
MP kept themselves in contention with a narrow 7-run win. Defending 178/8, which was largely thanks to Harsh Gawli's 29-ball 51 and Rajat Patidar's 16-ball 36, the bowlers triggered a collapse from Hyderabad who went from 125/2 in the 14th over to 171/9. Kamal Tripathi and Kumar Kartikeya shone with three wickets apiece.
Kartik Sharma's 34-ball fifty for Rajasthan went in vain as Punjab chased a target of 162 with 2.2 overs remaining. It was Prabhsimran Singh doing the damage upfront, scoring his 62 runs off 31 balls.
In a 9 overs per side game due to inclement weather, Odisha got the better of Assam, who were bowled out for 57 in only 8.1 overs while chasing a target of 121. Swastik Samal for Odisha was the top-scorer with 69 off 26.
Yuvraj Yogender Singh's 82* off 56 saw Haryana to a seven-wicket win in the last over while chasing a target of 153. Rishi Dhawan earlier played a captain's knock and added 42 off 30 to take HP to a decent total but his bowlers weren't quite up to the task against Yuvraj on the prowl.
