Stats: PBKS defend the lowest ever IPL total

A year after PBKS gunned down 262 against KKR at the Eden Gardens - the highest-ever successful chase in Men's T20s - they flipped it around on Tuesday with bowlers playing a starring role.

Here's a look at all the records broken during the low-scoring thriller between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 31 of IPL 2025, played in Mullanpur:

111 by PBKS is the lowest ever total successfully defended in IPL history, bettering Chennai Super Kings' 116/9 against them at Kingsmead, Durban, back in 2009.

95 is KKR's joint second-lowest all-out total in IPL history, alongside as many against Mumbai Indians at Gqeberha in 2009. Their all-time lowest is 67 all-out against MI at the Wankhede Stadium in 2008, while they were also restricted to 84/8 in 20 overs by RCB in Abu Dhabi in 2020.

111 is the third-lowest all-out total for PBKS, only behind 88 against RCB in Bengaluru (2015) and Indore (2018) respectively, and 73 against Rising Pune Supergiant in Pune in 2017.

36 wickets for Sunil Narine against Punjab Kings is now the most by a bowler against an opponent in IPL history, surpassing Umesh Yadav's 35 against the same team. Yuzvendra Chahal too entered this list, and now has 33 wickets against KKR. Having already bagged 32 wickets against his current franchise across the previous editions, he's now the only bowler with 30-plus wickets against two different teams in IPL history.

8 hauls of four wickets or more for Chahal in the IPL drew him level with Narine to level at the top-spot, surpassing Lasith Malinga's seven such hauls. This was also Chahal's third four-plus wicket haul against KKR in the IPL, the joint-most for any bowler against a single team, alongside Narine's as many against RCB.
