New Zealand fought back into the Test in a spectacular fashion. First, they dismissed the hosts for just 317, conceding a first innings lead of just 24 runs. In reply, Kane Williamson batted in an assured manner to help them finish at 123/3, a lead of 99 runs.

Dinesh Ramdin (45) and Jason Holder (38) batted well for the hosts, but there were several soft dismissals that hurt them. Wagner finished with 4/64 while Jimmy Neesham and Trent Boult grabbed 2 wickets each.

Kemar Roach struck twice early and New Zealand were in trouble when Ross Taylor was dismissed, but Williamson and Brendon McCullum steadied the ship during their 55-run unbroken stand for the fourth wicket.

"You know, anything above 250 gives us bowlers a good chance to, sort of, defend and I think it's only going to become harder to bat towards the end"- Neil Wagner wants his batsmen to contribute further.

New Zealand were struck an early blow when their skipper, Brendon McCullum, who had looked in ominous touch on Day 3, fell early to give West Indies fresh hope of restricting the visitors to a low score.

West Indies made the ideal start to the day with the wicket of Brendon McCullum in the fourth over. New Zealand's captain fell for 25, lbw to Kemar Roach to become the fast bowler's 99th Test wicket and leave the visitors uncertainly placed at 135 for four, only 111 runs ahead.

Jimmy Neesham and Kane Williamson combined brilliantly to enable New Zealand build their lead and get close to 200.

West Indies struck early as they sent McCullum back to the hut but Williamson and Neesham struck a 91-run partnership in which they dominated the bowling.

Both batsmen got to their respective landmarks with Williamson notching up 7th Test hundred while Neesham got his 2nd Test fifty.

Williamson's unbeaten 121, the seventh Test hundred of his career, and the support of all-rounder Jimmy Neesham (51) in a fifth-wicket partnership of 91, tilted the balance of an intriguing match.

Williamson, who put on 67 for the fourth wicket with his skipper, found another capable partner in Neesham, the left-hander stealing the spotlight from his senior partner in hoisting four sixes during an entertaining innings in which he did not allow the bowlers to settle.

Occupying the vital number three position in the batting order, Williamson's innings was one of calm assurance before lunch, in contrast to the start of his effort on the third evening when he edged a delivery from Roach at catchable height between wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin and first slip Chris Gayle, and also could have been stumped down the leg-side off the first delivery by spinner Shane Shillingford.

He started the morning by going after Shillingford, lofting him for four over long-on and never looked back, reaching the century in 249 minutes off 173 balls with 15 fours.

Neesham was out soon after but NZ were in a solid position.

New Zealand have made this their session. They are sitting pretty with a 236-run lead and also have 5 wickets in hand. The West Indies bowlers have to come up with other plans if they have to bowl out the Kiwis and restrict the lead to below 300.

Kane Williamson continued with his stunning form as he kept up his free scoring to take NZ's score past the 300-run mark. The right-hander looked in ominous touch as he not only played a stunning innings to bail his side out of trouble, but also ensured he kept the runs flowing at a steady place to keep his side's hopes of going for a win in place.

West Indies brought themselves, somewhat, into the game with the wicket of BJ Watling, but rain intervened soon after and play was stopped.

NZ wasted little time after the re-start as they scored at a fair rate and got their lead past 300. They, however, lost Tim Southee caught and bowled to Jerome Taylor soon after.

However, Stumps were called early as rain stopped play soon after. This Test was shaping up well for a result, but rain on Day 2 and today has lessened the chances.

It was New Zealand's day today as they scored at a good rate to post a good total for the chase. Williamson struck his 7th Test ton and in the process also registered his highest Test score. Neesham upped the ante when they had lost McCullum and notched up yet another 50 plus score in Tests.

West Indies' bowling was not impressive, with only Roach bowling well to take 4 wickets. N

New Zealand lead by 307 and there might be an overnight declaration, which will allow them to have a go at West Indies for the whole day tomorrow. The forecast doesn't look great for tomorrow as well but let's keep our fingers crossed.
