The carnival moves to Bangalore as Sri Lanka take on West Indies. Both teams have begun the campaign with wins and the team that wins tonight will have an upper hand in their quest to reach the semi-finals.

Chris Gayle will be in focus today not just because he made that blistering ton against England but also because he is literally playing at his 'second home'. Can the Lankans stop him? Or will the Windies cruise through on what is expected to be a batting paradise?

Darren Sammy has won the toss and he has opted to field on Chris Gayle's advice. He hopes the crowd can cheer his side.

Big wicket for the West Indies! Tillakaratne Dilshan falls early after hitting Russell for a six and a boundary in the first over. Carlos Brathwaite bowled well one straight and Dilshan missed the swipe. But he is unlucky here! The ball was easily missing the leg stump. Lahiru Thirimanne is the new man in.

Sri Lanka have lost both their openers now on what looks a placid wicket. They need to rebuild now as the momentum is completely lost. Chandimal is caught short of his crease as Charles was quick with his throw. Chandimal wanted a signal but Thirimanne sent him back. Kapugedara is the new man in.

That was a poor shot from Thirimanne. Tries to hit Badree through the covers but fails to connect it cleanly. They have lost the top order now. All those hopes of posting a total somewhere near 200 to challenge this mighty Windies lineup can take a backseat as skipper Mathews strides in.

Self-destruction at its best here! Badree picks two wickets in the same over. Both ordinary shots as Kapugedara first gets stumped and then Siriwardena edges one to Gayle at slip. Mathews is watching helplessly from the other end. Somebody support him!

Dwayne was brought back to bowl a couple of overs at the death and he strikes immediately dismissing Mathews for a painstaking 32-ball 20. It was a full toss and the skipper tried to duck but it took the edge and carried to the keeper. Nuwan Kulasekara is the new man. Can he provide some lusty blows?

Big news coming in from Bangalore! Chris Gayle will only bat if required. He has pulled his left hamstring but considering that it's a small target, it's likely they won't need him tonight.

What an amazing finish from the West Indies, Dwayne Bravo in particular. He runs out Herath and then dismisses Perera who helped himself to a 29-ball 40 which enabled Lanka to touch 120. This should be a walk in the park but you never know in this format.

Jeffrey Vandersay, the legspinner, who replaced Malinga in the squad is bowling really well here but West Indies are on track in their chase and are 52 for 1 in eight overs.

Marlon Samuels is stumped here and Sri Lanka sense a slight sniff. West Indies still have the upper hand but one more wicket could make things interesting here.

Vandersay gets rid of Charles as the first wicket falls down in the chase. Fletcher has given the Windies a very good start as Samuels comes in at number 3.

And there's the first half-century of the game coming in the 33rd over! Andre Fletcher has made full use of his opportunity to strike an important 50 here for the Windies as they look to him to guide them through in this chase in the absence of Gayle. It comes off just 37 balls. Top knock!

He has picked up his second wicket of the night and is trying his best to pull Lanka into this contest. That was a poor innings from Ramdin as he goes for just 5 from 13 deliveries. Russell is the new man in. They better not leave it late.

Andre Russell finishes off things in style as he ends up scoring 20 from just 8 balls. West Indies win with 10 balls to spare. Fletcher was the unlikely hero today as he smashed an unbeaten 84 off just 64 balls. The Bangalore crowd is disappointed though as most of them turned up to watch Chris Gayle in action. Hopefully, his injury isn't serious. The Windies have one foot on the next round now.
