Hello and welcome to the live updates of Day 4 of the second Test match between Zimbabwe and New Zealand at the Queen's Sports Club in Bulawayo. The hosts batsmen have exceeded expectations by showing resolute defence and playing out session for the loss of only six wickets. However, what has been been worrying about their approach is that it doesn't seem they are looking to go for a win here at Bulawayo.

Craig Ervine is at the crease unbeaten after scoring his maiden Test ton on Monday (August 8). He has the company of skipper Graeme Cremer.

Zimbabwe got off to a slow start, playing eight consecutive maiden overs, starting from the last few overs of Sunday. However, Grame Cremer has been snared early and the possibility of Zimbabwe failing to avoid a follow on is growing.

The possibility of a follow on is looming large on Zimbabwe. Nonetheless, Craig Ervine is still at the crease. It will be interesting to see if they change their approach.

Ish Sodhi's four-wicket haul has finally helped New Zealand end Zimbabwe's long haul at the wicket. Craig Ervine was the last wicket to fall as Zimbabwe fell 220 runs short of New Zealand's first innings total. However, New Zealand have decided not to enforce the follow on given their long time spent in the field.

It's lunch on Day 4 and New Zealand have managed to get off to a steady start. The visitors might lookl to score quickly in this session in order to allow themselves four sessions to bowl out Zimbabwe in the fourth innings

Zimbabwe have come hard at New Zealand in the second innings. The openers - Tom Latham and Martin Guptill have fallen to Donald Tiripano and Michael Chinouya. They are bowling faster than they were in the first essay and also bowled a lot tighter.

Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson have put on a half century stand for the third wicket and taken New Zealand to a comfortable position. The lead has extended past the 300-run mark.

For the second time in the match, New Zealand have declared their innings, and for the second time in the day Zimbabwe will come out to bat. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor played aggressively to score their respective half centuries as New Zealand set a target of 387 runs to win, with less than four sessions in hand.

Tino Mawoyo and Chamu Chibaba and have got Zimbabwe off to a steady start. Much unlike their approach in the first innings, their approach has been slightly more brisk in the second essay.

Zimbabwe's chase has gone off track after the hosts lost three wickets in quick succession after putting on a half century stand for the first wicket. Martin Guptill takes a superb diving catch to dismiss Chamu Chibhabha, while Trent Boult and Tim Southee trap Tino Mawoyo and Sikandar Raza leg before wicket.

Zimbabwe looked set to plan their chase well for most part of their second innings. However, with three wickets falling in quick succession late in the day, the chase has been derailed and they might look to resort to a defensive approach on the final day. A good day for New Zealand.
