Records tumble after England run riot at Trent Bridge

It was carnage unlimited on Tuesday (August 30) at Trent Bridge, Nottingham as the England top-order made merry during the first innings of the third One Day International (ODI) against Pakistan, and broke a slew of records in the process. Alex Hales and Jos Buttler were at their belligerent best, as was Eoin Morgan, as England posted the highest total in ODIs. In response, Pakistan crashed and burned to a 169-run defeat. 444 for 3 by England is the:

76-run stand between Amir and Yasir Shah is the second-highest 10th wicket partnership for Pakistan after 103 by Amir and Saeed Ajmal against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi in 2009. It is also the second-highest 10th wicket stand against England after 106* by Viv Richards and Michael Holding in Old Trafford in 1984.
