We're officially done with the league stages of the 2021 PSL season. Quetta and Lahore are the teams eliminated, the latter a shocker really given how they peaked early on in the tournament. Islamabad will play Multan in the first Qualifier while Karachi and Peshawar will battle it out in the eliminator. Tomorrow is a rest day and the playoffs will begin on Monday with Qualifier 1. Shadab Khan | Islamabad United skipper: It was his (Wasim) effort that has paid dividends. He wanted to prove himself and I just backed him, making things simple for him. The way we came back with the ball in the final 10 overs was commendable, as was our batting in the first 10 overs. Yes, we need to iron out the lapses as we can't afford those in pressure games. They are a tough team, they are in good form and it's about who handles pressure better. We'll try to ensure that we do the simple things right.

Mohammad Wasim | Player of the Match: It's a great achievement for me to perform well on such a grand stage. Captain was motivating me all the time and helping me to plan things. I want to donate this prize money to charity so that it can be of some help to the poor people.

Mohammad Rizwan | Multan Sultans skipper: Happy with the effort and we kept fighting till the end and that's the kind of quality we expect from the team. We wanted to continue the momentum from the start and that's why we went hard despite wickets falling. We have to improve a little on our fielding, but the other areas are well-rounded and hopefully we can beat them in the next game.

02:15 Local Time, 22:15 GMT, 03:45 IST: A weird finish to what was in totality, a rather weird game. Both teams really struggled big time in the second half of their innings and it wasn't really due to the nature of the pitch as such. It was more to do with some crafty bowling and poor shot selection of the batsmen. As it turned out, Multan were about 20-25 short of a tricky total but they really made Islamabad sweat for the win. It didn't seem that way in the first 10 overs though, as there was impetus right from the start and at the halfway mark, Shadab's boys were comfortable at 80/2. It seemed like only formalities were remaining but like in the Multan innings, the back end saw a flurry of wickets. In the end, the lack of runs is what prevented Multan from stealing a heist. Islamabad will be happy though, they rested a lot of key players and still emerged victorious. Multan too have a lot of positives, especially in the way they fought.
