Wanindu Hasaranga | Player of the Match and Kandy Captain: We all know Jaffna have been champions in the last three years. Our boys played really good cricket. We haven’t played Dushmantha today because he was injured, Udana also got injured. Finished Mujeeb’s 4 overs before 10 overs but I still believed in myself. I do my basic things, try to bowl on stumps. Try to bowl good line and length and dot balls. The wrong-un is my weapon, I get lot of wickets from it. So I back my strengths. I think Udana is also out for this tournament. Don’t know about Pradeep. We played lot of back-to-back games. We can’t play like that, hopefully next time they take some time and schedule it longer.

Thisara Perera | Jaffna captain: It was a bad day. We thought we can chase 180 with our batting line-up. But we won’t worry about that. Still proud of my team as we won three in a row, I don’t think anyone would’ve been able to achieve that. Hopefully we can bounce back strong next year. It’s good to have an extra batter when chasing but it didn’t work out well for us. Would like to thank our team owner. We don’t have any memorable matches or incidents this year so that’s the issue. We couldn’t click as a team. It happens in cricket, we have to take wins or losses.

22:59 Local Time, 17:29 GMT, 22:59 IST: The fourth season of LPL T20 will see a new champion as three-time winners Jaffna have been knocked out and how! A clinical performance from B-Love Kandy led by their skipper as they win this Eliminator. After being put into bat, they posted an above-par total thanks to a superb 79 from Mohammad Haris and they backed that up with an outstanding bowling performance. Chasing a hefty total, Jaffna got off to a terrible start with Asalanka going early. There was a small partnership between Gurbaz and Lynn but it was cut short with Lynn selling his partner down the river. Hasaranga then put his team ahead with 2 wickets in an over and it required a rebuilding effort from Jaffna. Malik and Miller got stuck in at the crease and stitched a fifty-run stand. There was just a brief moment of panic as the Miller-Malik partnership flourished but skipper Hasaranga came back to pick up two more wickets to dent Jaffna's hopes. Thereafter, it all went downhill for Jaffna. Theekshana and Malik showed some resistance but it was all in vain as Hasaranga once again came back in to clean things up and end with figures of 6-9, incidentally the best in LPL history. With Chameera out before the game and Udana pulling up short after bowling just one over, Kandy looked like they'd be short on bowling resources even before Pradeep battled through injury to complete an over. It was their captain though that stood up tall and ensured that it didn't come down to anyone else.

Slower length delivery wide outside off, Malik reaches out looking to slap it over extra cover but it goes off the toe end, simple catch for the fielder on the ring at extra-cover.
