The women's edition has been so good. Right from that 98th ball finish from van Niekerk that kicked off the tournament against Manchester Originals, we have had some great moments. Jemimah Rodrigues finished as the top run-getter (249 runs), Tash Farrant was brilliant with her variations and deservedly ends as the highest wicket-taker (18 wickets). The top three individual scores 92*, 78, 76* recorded by Rodrigues, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma. Kapp and Farrant putting on back-to-back best bowling performances. We didn't get the triple figure score or a fifer, but the fresh format was enjoyable. Lots of data to understand and come back better next time. That is curtains on the women's edition. Dane van Niekerk | Player of the Series: If you have a group of incredible players, then it makes my life a lot easier. A lot of players put in the hard yards to put in the performances for the team. I think I batted really slow and put the team on the back foot. But if we bowl good lengths we knew we could defend this.

Marizanne Kapp | Player of the Mach: First of all, I would like to thank Jesus Christ. I was tired when I went out to bowl. Luckily the pitch suited my bowling. I mentioned yesterday, whoever won yesterday was going to win today and luckily it was us. We had a brilliant team. Everyone put up their hands and performed and I would like to thank my team. I would love to bowl here again, moved quite a bit. As soon as I got my first wicket, I knew if I just stuck to my strengths, I would get a few wickets.

Dane van Niekerk | Oval Invincibles captain: I have no words at the moment. If you told me that would happen at the end of the day, I would have taken it. Credit to Southern Brave, they have been incredible. We had to rock up today to beat a very good side. It's a childhood dream to play a final at Lord's. She (Kapp) stands out when we need her. She's a big match player. She had a good feeling about today. She was really tired but she pushed through and I am really proud of her. We were a little bit short especially with Southern Brave's batting. We backed our strengths which's our bowling and defending. And again we did that today, so I am very happy.

The Brave were the favourites today, having lost just one out of the 8 games in the league stages. When Shrubsole won the toss, many thought it was going to tough for the Invicibles from there on. And when the Invincbles had just 6 runs on the board in the first 15 balls, it was all heading the Brave way. But van Niekerk and Wilson managed a decent 56-run stand. The Brave were still on top with just 70 runs on the board off 70 balls. That is when Kapp led a counterattack for Capsey and Villiers to carry on and steal 51 runs in the last 30 balls. With three high quality pacers in Kapp, Ismail and Farrant, the Invincibles always believed and Kapp blew the Brave away with some brilliant fast bowling in overcast conditions. The Brave seemed to have panicked big time and it became 29/7 in no time. So much so to think on the lines of not getting a fitting finale to the inaugural edition. The Invincibles were bowled out for the lowest team total of the season (85) by the Brave in the league stages, but they have returned the favour big time in the biggest game.

Kapp, what a game she had. 26 off 14 under serious pressure with the bat and most importantly, killed the game by taking three wickets with some lovely swing bowling in the first 10 balls of the innings. Farrant recorded the best bowling figures yesterday (4/10), today Kapp betters that to snatch the record with 4/9. Kapp is emotional, while captain Dane van Niekerk has her arms aloft and fist pumps to celebrate. Special mention to her. The Birmingham Phoenix were cruising to victory yesterday in the Eliminator. But van Niekerk called for a timeout, got her girls together and gave a proper pep talk. They came fired up and pulled off an inspiring victory that would give them massive confidence coming into today.
