Delhi were one of the favourites coming into the tournament and they have just announced that over a loudspeaker tonight. Loud and clear. They started off well with the ball, lost a bit of the momentum in the middle and end but did well to stop the CSK team below 200 despite Raina, Ali and Curran going bonkers. Shikhar Dhawan | Man of the Match: I really enjoyed my batting. Was enjoying the way I was hitting the ball. Prithvi was batting really well. He carried on with his form from Vijay Hazare. It was important to get off to a good start because we were chasing a big total. I have to innovate a few shots and I enjoy taking up challenges. I was playing the ball close to the body. The wicket was a little sticky. I knew my game plan. It is tremendous to watch Prithvi. He played some effortless shots. So good and so happy for him as he didn't have a good IPL last time around. I liked the Moeen Ali catch the most.

Rishabh Pant | DC (winning) captain: It always feels good when you get the win in the end. In the middle phase, I was under some pressure. But Avesh and Tom (Curran) did well in the middle to restrict them to 188. It was very special walking out for the toss with MS. He has been my go to man. I have learnt a lot from him. We were thinking as to what we will do without Nortje and Rabada and I thought we had to do with the options we have. No, there was no effort for the NRR as it is still early stages in the tournament. Prithvi and Shikhar did well for us in the powerplay. They kept it simple and played some good cricketing shots.

Prithvi Shaw: Feeling good. Everyone contributed and it was a good start (to the season). The wicket was good to bat on in the second innings and we executed quite well. From Australia when I was dropped I was working from there itself, coming back and across early, so I practised before going to Vijay Hazare with Pravin Amre and worked on that. I had a good plan before going into that tournament, so it is working quite well. I don't want to think about it (being dropped from the Indian side) because it was a disappointing?moment for me but I have to move on and if something is wrong with my batting or technique, I have to improve and I am working hard on myself.

MS Dhoni | CSK (losing) captain: A lot depended on dew, and that factor played on our mind from the start and that's why we wanted to get as many runs as possible. The batters they did a good job to reach 188, because it was tacky until dew settled in 50 minutes later. We could have bowled slightly better, and if batters are hitting you over the fields, that's fair enough. The execution of the bowlers was poor and there were boundary balls that they bowled, but the bowlers will have learned and they will apply that in the future games. The opposition have half an hour in a 7:30 start, when the pitch is really tacky and the ball stops a bit, so we need to get 15-20 runs extra to be safe. If we get dew consistently, then 200 will be a must on a pitch like this. Their (Delhi) bowlers bowled a great line when it was stopping and seaming a bit, and the openers got really good balls in which they got out and that can happen in a game like this.

23:11 Local Time, 17:41 GMT, 23:11 IST: So where did CSK go wrong in the second innings? Almost EVERYWHERE. On every parameter. The bowling changes, the bowling line and lengths, the fielding..everything was a lot to be desired. CSK looked like a team from the 2020 edition. Yes, they are slow starters but they never ever threatened despite having a pretty good score on the board. The dropped chances (three of them) were costly. Positives? Yes. A few of them. Raina, Ali and Curran batted really well. So, did Jadeja after a lay off. Delhi on the other hand continue to look strong and they have started off on a positive note. Dhawan and Shaw put on a wonderful partnership and did enough to take it beyond CSK with that opening stand. Pant came in at number three and ensured there weren't too many hiccups. A comfortable win for DC! They just seem to hold all the aces when it comes to CSK from last year. Three in a row for DC against CSK in the IPL.
