Tahlia McGrath | Australia captain: Was important for us to start the series off well. My job was easy as the bowlers were fantastic, the fielding was great too. It’s nice when plans come off, nice when bowlers execute. Couldn’t be happier. (On Georgia Voll) Composure and the confidence for me, to open the batting and play shots like that on debut. Chasing low totals is tricky, we tried to be aggressive, looked like a tricky wicket too.

Harmanpreet Kaur | India captain: We bowled really well today even though it was a small total. We believed our bowlers can take wickets. We were still able to take five wickets. Few of us got starts in batting, we were not able to take that to the end, those things we need to think about. About partnerships and getting a good total on the board, we’ll reflect on these things. It was our first game here, we know how the pitch will play now, we’ll play on the same pitch next game. We have some clear idea now, will discuss these things in the team meeting and come out with a positive approach.

Megan Schutt | Player of the Match: Got some rewards with Kim doing the hard yards at the other end. To tick off the fifer is nice. To wrap up the game was nice. Really good, nice to get back with the team, we really enjoy each other’s company. Nice to get things over early here, gives us some extra time. Early start on Sunday so it’ll be a bit of a change-up. Feel like this ground always attracts a good crowd.

18:38 Local Time, 08:38 GMT, 14:08 IST: Clinical day out for Australia and a poor one for India. The two sides just seemed to be playing on different levels today. After winning the toss and opting to bat, things went awry for India pretty quickly. None of their batters really got going, they got bogged down, failed to rotate the strike effectively and eventually all perished to get bowled out for just 100 in 34.2 overs. The chase was never expected to be challenging for Australia and it mostly wasn't. The openers got off to a flying start with Litchfield doing the damage early. Then Australia lost 3 wickets in quick succession generating some interest in the Indian camp but it was all put out quickly as Australia sauntered along to the total easily. Georgia Voll, on debut, was the standout performer with 46* from 42.
