One thing that cricket bubbles (unless of course you're in the IPL!) has meant is that the winning captains have to collect their trophies on their own. No celebrations. No champagne. No shouting. No photos. It's Quinton's turn now, who's started off a new chapter in South African cricket rather well you'd think. So what if Sri Lanka were grappling with injuries and coming off an extended T20 season completely unprepared for Test cricket. 120 points is 120 points, 2-0 is 2-0, and revenge is revenge at the end of the day. So this was me, Vineet Anantharaman, writing it out for you in the company of Sriram AS, Hari Sadanandan and our scorer, Mukesh Gowda. Until some other bubble comes calling, ta ta!!

Quinton de Kock | Winning skipper: I don't think it was only about revenge. After 2020 we just wanted to get off to good start to the season. The boys turned up well which was good to see. Quite impressed with some of the guys who put up their hands. Keshav was a bit unlucky to not get his turn, but he understands his role. The seamers bowled really well, at times there were soft boundaries but they came back really well. We have a young bowling lineup but they used what they had. When they play a lot more cricket they would have a lot more experience and that would help us. Good to see the boys hungry. I don't think Keshav is injured. He'll be all good for Pakistan and get some overs under his belt. Mixed emotions in going to Pakistan. I'm excited to play some cricket but bubble life at times can be frustrating. First time for me, so looking forward to the new experience.

Dimuth Karunaratne | Losing skipper: When we won the toss and batted first, we thought we won the match half way. We fought hard and lost wickets and then just kept losing wickets. But we fought hard and did well in patches but we couldn't compete with them. Perera did really well for us as an opener, and the two bowlers, Asitha and Vishwa did really well in Suranga's absence. As a group we couldn't do well but we have some positive things to take over to the England series. Hopefully the injured players will be back, Angelo will be back as well. Playing at home is the best thing; we can dominate in Sri Lanka. We have a couple of good spinners and we can do well there and pose some problems to the English players.

Dean Elgar | Man of the Match | Man of the Series: I can't say not getting the century was extremely frustrating in the first Test, but I just had to put that aside. I just wanted to get us into a position of strength. I knew if I occupied and grafted hard I could cement one side at the Wanderers. I have had some success knowing that the ball would seam and swing around which I like in a contest. [On his quick scoring rate] They're calling me Kusal Perera in the Proteas. (laughs) If I play my best cricket I look to score a bit more. I am not taking a lot of risks at the moment and it is something I have had chats with the coaching staff in the lockdown. With my experience and my age, I just need to contribute and add. I feel that if I look to score and be positive it is something we can build on. Looking forward to Pakistan, I've never been there before and it is the only Asian country where I have never played cricket. It is going to be an awesome contest. I have had experience in Asian countries, but every cricketer must experience playing in Pakistan. It is going to be challenging. Aiden and I have been working really hard, we have grafted hard in our domestic side. Long may it continue. We have had a lot of chats and we're just looking to establish our relationship a lot more and make it a lot tighter which is invaluable when we're out there in the middle. He has a lot to contribute in the future and I hope I can help him. He can also run off on me which in my opinion is extremely exciting for our cricket going forward. Even with Rassie, he's new to our Test setup and put on a great partnership again. We didn't let our guard down which we strive as a batting unit.

13:13 Local Time, 11:13 GMT, 16:43 IST: The day started off with some sort of balance with Karunaratne looking positive, Dickwella looking over-positive and them adding onto their lead rather quickly. But no, much like this series, one wicket was enough to trigger some madness in the batting, as Sri Lanka collapsed, losing six wickets for just 35 runs. And then 67 was never going to challenge. Never mind the pitch demons, never mind South Africa's dodginess in the first innings with the bat. Not even to create half a chance, forget ten full ones. But it's the Proteas' bowling that deserves the credit here, with Ngidi and Sipamla bursting through the tail this morning that killed all hopes of even having a contest. Also when seen in context of the bigger picture, it's Sri Lanka's 157 all-out in the first innings that saw them fall down to point of no return. Okay stick around, the presentations are coming ..
