16:43 Local Time, 11:13 GMT, 16:43 IST: A comprehensive?victory for Himachal Pradesh as they beat Uttar Pradesh by 5 wickets to enter the semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. They ticked all the right boxes today. Electing to bowl first, Vinay Galetiya bowled a fantastic spell with the new ball as Uttar Pradesh were reduced to 39/4 in the 15th over. And from there, it was always going to be tough to bounce back. Courtesy Rinku Singh's knock, Uttar Pradesh somewhat managed to post a respectable total, but it was never going to be easy to defend it. Himachal Pradesh openers took their time initially, and once the opening stand was broken, it was the pair of Nikhil Gangta and Prashant Chopra who took control of the proceedings. They added 122 runs for the second wicket to put Himachal in the driver's seat, and although they lost a few wickets thereafter, Prashant Chopra's knock of 99 took them closer to the target. He missed out on a well deserved century, but his innings made sure Himachal are through to the next stage. Shouldn't have got so close, but Himachal will be happy with the win, they have made it through to the semi-final of Vijary Hazare Trophy for the second time in the history of this tournament.
