After a good over by David Willey, Reece Topley keeps peppering deliveries outside the off stump. Quinton de Kock takes advantage of that and smashes a six and a couple of boundaries to put South Africa in command early on in the contest. He follows it up with two sixes and two fours off Willey's next over.

Hashim Amla, who was quietly enjoying the carnage from the other end, before committing some himself in the next over. He was dropped at mid off once (by Topley - the youngster is having a tough day) as South Africa raced past to their fifth fastest 50 in T20 Internationals.

There was a bit of calm for England to make a comeback. But poor bowling by Ben Stokes and shabby wicket-keeping by Jos Buttler has allowed South Africa to resume their carnage. South Africa have posted 166 in 15 overs - the third most in World T20 in as many overs. Both the previous two instances came in the first World T20 match in 2007 between South Africa and West Indies.

JP Duminy brought up his half-century with a massive six over the mid wicket region. It is only the second time in T20 Internationals that three batsmen have scored half-centuries in one innings. The only previous instance was when Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir went past the landmark against England in 2007.

A couple of more lusty blows from David Miller helps South Africa to 229 for 4 in their 20 overs. The total might seem big, but England have the batting power to chase it down on the flat Wankhede wicket, with dew expected to play a part.

Well, well, well. England have got off on attack mode. After Jason Roy plunders 21 runs off the first over, Alex Hales welcomes Dale Steyn with three consecutive boundaries. 44 off 2 overs. Game on!

Just when Jason Roy looked on track to break the fastest 50 record in T20 Internationals by an English player, he scooped the ball up in the air and Quinton de Kock took an easy catch. Ravi Bopara's record stays!

This is the second-highest score made in a T20 International Powerplay. After getting off to an explosive start, England are scoring at a fair clip, but losing wickets at regular intervals. Another positive for South Africa has been their body language on the field. Ben Stokes found a fielder at deep mid wicket while looking to dispatch a full toss over the ropes.

While there aren't too many big hits in the partnership between Joe Root and Jos Buttler, they have put on the fastest 50-run partnership by an English pair in World T20. They broke the record set by Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen in 2009 at Lord's. Right now, England are cruising in the chase. Who would've thought about this an hour back?

Imran Tahir has helped South Africa back in the contest with a superb 16th over. Not only did he manage to dismiss Jos Buttler, but also conceded only five runs off the over.

Moeen Ali completed the formalities as England chased down a record total in World T20 to register their first win of the ongoing tournament. A few wickets fell late in the match.
