ENGLAND CLINCH SERIES

Jason Roy's sensational ton and handy knocks by Ben Stokes and Tom Curran helps England clinch the series. Roy made 114 before a middle-order wobble almost consumed the chase. Stokes and Curran scored 61 for the seventh wicket to help the side cross the line in the final over.

Set a par score at the venue, England were off to a superb start as Roy and James Vince smashed 94 inside 14 overs to put the pressure back on Pakistan. Vince was the first to fall as he chopped one on from Mohammad Hasnain to fall for 43. Joe Root got going as soon as he walked in and Roy continued to attack the bowlers to ease the pressure as the duo scored 107 for the second wicket. The drama, however, didn't unfold till the 28th over. Roy got to his century off 75 deliveries as he smashed a boundary and a six to get to the landmark before falling to Hasnain caught behind.

Joe Root followed five balls later as he was dismissed by Imad Wasim. Jos Buttler, stand in captain on the day, bagged a two-ball duck while Moeen Ali was dismissed for a three-ball duck by Shoaib Malik. Joe Denly had to score runs to keep his hopes alive of making it to the World Cup but failed the audition. With the pressure on England, he failed to partner Ben Stokes and was caught and bowled off the bowling of Junaid Khan for 17. From 201 for 1, England had slipped to 216 for 5 and then 258 for 6.

It was then Ben Stokes, with his half-century, and Tom Curran who revived the chase with a timely assault. Needing 44 in the last five overs, Curran attacked Hasan Ali in the 46th over to take the pressure off Stokes, who had reached his half-century in the previous over. Stokes continued to go big and ended with 71 while Curran made crucial 31 just when it seemed Pakistan will squeeze out a win from a hopeless situation. There was some late drama as Curran fell in the 48th over leaving England needing 19 off the final two overs. Junaid Khan leaked 16 in the penultimate over to seal Pakistan's fate..

Earlier, Pakistan were helped to a fighting score by Babar Azam's ton and half-centuries from Fakhar Zaman and Mohammed Hafeez. After Imam ul Haq had to retire hurt early in the innings, Zaman and Azam scored 107 for the second wicket to help Pakistan get off the blocks. At the 20-over mark, the visitors had 116 on the board and had lost just one wicket, of Zaman as he tried to slash at a wide one and was caught at third man. Hafeez, back in the side, complimented Azam stroke by stroke as the pair continued to frustrate England. The duo took Pakistan to 220 in the 37th over with a 104-run stand. Hafeez was nipped out with a short one and six deliveries later Azam got to his ton with a boundary to fine-leg off 104 deliveries.

Pakistan looked set to cruise past 300 in the first 30 overs but the thought of giving their bowlers an additional cushion meant they batted constantly under pressure. Short ball resulted in the wickets of Hafeez, Azam and Asif Ali and Pakistan then failed to find the much-needed late push. They were guilty of not pushing the score early on when the batsmen were set. Pakistan did manage to become the first team to post three consecutive 340-plus scores but they've lost their last three matches as well. Their losing streak now extends to nine games - just one shy of their worst ever losing streak.

19 needed in the last two overs. England win? Or Pakistan?

50 for STOKES

Much needed for England as the allrounder gets to his half-century. He's still kept Pakistan in the game with timely boundaries. 44 needed off 30.

England 297 for 6 in 45 overs.

DENLY DONE?

So he's stroked his way out of the World Cup squad? Junaid Khan takes a good catch as Denly falls for 17. 83 needed in the last 60 balls.

England 258 for 6

FIVE GONE

Pakistan are bossing this now. Roy ton and now a flurry of wickets. Moeen Ali is the new victim as he falls to Shoaib Malik. Second duck of the innings this. England in the middle of a wobble and Pakistan need to put the foot on the throat now.

England 216 for 5

125 needed in the last 120 balls ...

DUCK FOR BUTTLER

Big, big wicket this for Pakistan. Buttler gone for a two-ball duck. Wasim strikes again as buttler has smashed a full toss to Hasnain.

England 208 for 4

ROOT GONE

Two quick wickets for Pakistan and just what they needed at this stage of the game. Imad Wasim gets Root who falls for 36. Two new men in now but a very manageable chase this.

England 208 for 3

TWO DOWN

Hasnain gets Roy to give Pakistan some relief. The opener falls for 114 off 89 caught behind down the leg side.

England 201 for 2

200 up for England in the 28th over. 140 needed now.

CENTURY FOR ROY

A four and six to reach his eigth ODI ton. He had failed to convert his half-centuries in the last two games. Doesn't miss out today. England absolutely cruising at the moment.

England 169 for 1 in 24.

50 STAND

Roy keeps marching on and Root is doing what he does best - keeps the runs flowing. Pakistan bowling isn't looking threatening and there are plenty of issues out there

England 149 for 1 in 21 overs.

50 for Roy

Another half-century for the opener, off 44 balls, and England are past 100 in 14 overs. Roy has made it a habit of giving solid starts and he's doing really here. If Pakistan don't pick up a wicket here, especially of Roy, they will be out of the contest by the 30th over.

England 100 for 1

50 for Roy

Another half-century for the opener, off 44 balls, and England are past 100 in 14 overs. Roy has made it a habit of giving solid starts and he's doing really here. If Pakistan don't pick up a wicket here, especially of Roy, they will be out of the contest by the 30th over.

England 100 for 1VINCE FALLS

He wasn't happy with his gloves on the previous shot he played. Called for new one but won't need them now. Hasnain beats him for pace and Vince chops on.

England 94 for 1

FAST START

As expected, Roy and Vince have given England a brisk start. No wickets lost and runs scored at more than six per over. There has been a dropped catch from Zaman to give Roy and opportunity.

England 68 for no loss

POSITIVE START

A good start here from the England openers. There have been some good balls but both batsmen have managed to get the early boundary in.

England 29 for no loss after 5

Roy and Vince to open. Junaid Khan has got the ball. The second innings should be a cracker ...

Roy and Vince to open. Junaid Khan has got the ball. The second innings should be a cracker ...

Pakistan post 340

Azam made 115 off 112 while Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez struck half-centuries to give Pakistan in probably will be a par score considering the short boundaries and a pitch designed to please the batsmen.

England, after winning the toss, made the perfect start in the first four over. Jofra Archer hit the mid 140s while Mark Wood constantly trouble the batsmen as his pace consistently breached the high 140s-mark. Both Imam ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman were tied down with just 12 runs coming in the first four overs. The former, however, had to retire hurt as he missed a pacy back of length ball from Wood and was pinged on the left elbow. Azam's arrival at the crease instantly put the pressure back of the bowlers as he constantly peppered the cover boundary.

Zaman and Azam scored 107 for the second wicket to help Pakistan get off the blocks. At the 20-over mark, the visitors had 116 on the board and had lost just one wicket, off Zaman as he tried to slash at a wide one and was caught at third man. Hafeez, back in the side, complimented Azam stroke by stroke as they continued to frustrate England. The duo took Pakistan to 220 in the 37th over with a 104-run stand. Hafeez was nipped out with a short one and six deliveries later Azam got to his ton with a boundary to fine-leg off 105 deliveries.

At the 30-over mark, CricViz data predicted Pakistan posting 333. But more importantly, gave England a 63 per cent chance of chasing it down. The Pakistan batsmen, unfortunately with the coin falling in England's favour, spent the whole innings chasing a tall total knowing no score is safe at the venue. Once Hafeez fell, the pressure on Azam mounted as he had to bat through and ensure the score was at least north of 370. England did really well in the last ten overs - getting ride of dangerous Azam and Asif Ali (17).

Pakistan looked set to cruise past 300 in the first 30 overs but the pressure of giving their bowlers an additional cushion meant they batted constantly under pressure. Short ball resulted in the wickets of Hafeez, Azam and Ali and Pakistan then failed to find the much-needed late push. Azam's century was the ninth individual century for Pakistan - the most any side has hit in 2019. They have, however, won just two ODIs this year. They would want to add another win to their tally having been out-batted and out-paced in the series so far.

MALIK HIT WICKET

More misery for Pakistan. Malik was looking good but went too far back in his crease. Smashes his middle stump trying to cut a delivery.

Pakistan 316 for 6

Pakistan past 300 now ...

THREE FOR CURRAN

Imad Wasim swings and doesn't connect. Losses his stumps and Pakistan are struggling in the death overs.

Pakistan 298 for 5

FOUR DOWN

Asif Ali doesn't last long. Just 17 from his today. Archer gets his first of the day and it's the short ball again that results in a wicket.

Pakistan 280 for 4 in 43.

Oh, dear!

Babar has guided a slower delivery from Curran straight to deep point. Archer takes a good low catch. Ten overs to go and Pakistan in desperate need to go big. They should cruise past 300 but anything less than 380 won't be safe at this venue.

Pakistan 253 for 3 in 40 overs.

NINTH ODI TON

Superb innings this from the Pakistan No. 3. Babar gets to his century with a boundary off 105 balls. More responsibilty on him to carry on.

Pakistan 232 for 2

TWO DOWN

Short ball does the trick from Wood. Hafeez doesn't connect well and lobs a catch to mid-on.

Pakistan 220 for 2

200 UP

In the 35th over, Pakistan have set themselves a solid platform. In the last 15 overs, they should go for a total north of at least 350. Pakistan have been outpaced and out-batted in this so far. They need a win to keep the series alive. The last two overs should be exciting. Babar has entered the 90s and Hafeez has got his half-century.

Pakistan 206 for 1

30 done, Pakistan 178 for 1

150 UP

Babar is scoring freely and Hafeez has wasted no time in settling in. This is turning out to be another good stand. Pakistan are past 150 but need to push on after 30 overs. No total is safe at this venue.

Pakistan 160 for 1 in 27

FIRST BREAKTHROUGH

Zaman has thrown it away as he gets caught at third man chasing a wide one. He falls for 57 off 50. The century stand also comes to an end. Mohammad Hafeez is the new man in.

Pakistan 116 for 1

50 & 50

100 up for Pakistan and both batsmen have crossed their half-centuries as well. Babar gets there first off 49 while Zaman gets it off 44. England will hope for some quick wickets as this is a high-scoring venue and only wickets can hamper the progress.

Pakistan 105 for no loss.

Update -Imam-ul-Haq has been taken to hospital for a precautionary X-Ray.

SOLID START

First four overs, Pakistan had just 12 runs on the board. Azam has looked in good touch while Zaman is looking in punishing mood. This partnership is now 54 off 40.

Pakistan 63 for no loss in 10

INJURY BREAK

Slow start this from Pakistan. One top-edged six from Zaman off Wood. Imam went for the pull and was pinged on the left elbow by Wood. Looked in a lot of pain and went down straight away. He's gone off. Babar Azam is the new man in.

Pakistan 9 for no loss.

Alright the, Zaman and Imam walk out to bat. Archer to start with the ball and we are all set.

For Pakistan

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the fourth ODI between England and Pakistan at Trent Bridge. The visitors need a win to stay alive in the series. Three matches done and England lead 2-0. This has been a tough series for the bowlers so far and the trend is set to continue. The last time Pakistan played England at this venue, the hosts hammered 444 to humble the visitors. Will we see a repeat of that? The bowlers will certainly hope that isn't a case.
