SRH WIN BY EIGHT WICKETS
It was pretty easy in the end for SRH as they ease to a win with five balls to spare and also hand GT their first loss in IPL 2022. Williamson was the anchor in the chase after a slow start while Nicholas Pooran smashed 34 off 18 to ensure there was no late drama in the chase. Pandya and Rashid were handy with the ball but Ferguson, Nalkande and Tewatia couldn't quite build the pressure. Tremendous chase give SRH scored just 11 in the opening four overs.

Rashid Khan removed Abhishek and that's impacted the scoring rate as well. They reach 75 for 1 at the halfway mark and will bank on Williamson to get them past the line.
Powerplay done
Only 11 runs were scored in the opening four overs and it seemed the SRH chase was going nowhere. Williamson attacked while Abhishek took on Ferguson and SRH end the powerplay with 42 on the board and haven't lost a wicket. Good recovery after a shaky start!

A half-century stand between Hardik and Abhinav Manohar has helped GT push the score past 160. The captain got a half-century but slowed down in his innings. Manohar struck 32 off 21 to help GT find the late push. SRH not only dropped catches but also gave away 22 extras - with 20 off them as wides.

Eventful first over from Umran Malik. He bowled a short ball to Hardik and it crashed into the helmet. The GT captain responded with consecutive boundaries. The pacer then has Wade trapped plumb in front.

Powerplay done
SRH have two wickets in the opening six overs and will look to build on that. The first two overs went for plenty and that's helped GT push past 50. Natarajan dismissed Sai Sudharsan in the sixth over to ensure GT were pushed back a bit. Middle overs will be crucial for both teams.

SRH have the early strike they were looking for and Bhuvneshwar has landed the early blow after a horror first over. He leaked 16 in the opening over but strikes on the second of the second over. Full and outside off, Gill smoked that one but Rahul Tripathi takes a one-handed stunner diving to the left at cover.

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the IPL 2022 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans in Mumbai. Before we get cracking, here's the matchpreview by Narbavi.
The relief was palpable in the SRH camp after their win over defending champions CSK on Saturday (April 9). The franchise has copped a fair bit of flak over the last few months for on-field and off-field reasons. To make matters worse, they lost their first two games of the new season as well. So to finally open their points tally was indeed massive for a side that's trying to appease their fanbase.
What would have come as a big positive is the fact that the bowling attack delivered in unison. Most of them had a good outing and the lack of a leg spinner didn't really seem to hamper them. It could still prove to be a stumbling block in their quest for a playoff place though as the tournament progresses with the pitches wearing out. But for now, SRH will have to try and pick up as many wins as they can. And for winning to become a habit, they will have to next send a statement. That is not going to be easy by any means as SRH up against a red-hot Gujarat Titans in their next encounter.
Titans have surprised many with the start they have made to their season. Even though the bowling attack looked strong with the likes of Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson and Rashid Khan, there were question marks over their batting lineup. But with Shubman Gill firing up top, those concerns have been eased and Rahul Tewatia adding to his legacy the other night to pull off an unlikely win, they would have only pumped up the IPL newbies further.
