Steve Smith | Player of the Match: It was good fun. At the start, I was all over the place and then something clicked and I started to middle a lot more. It was a pretty good total but it was a good game of cricket. We had a little bit of a scare there. AT (Turner) played really nicely, had good partnerships with few of their lads. Got a little bit closer than we would have liked, but Moises kept his cool in the last over and got us home. I love playing here at the SCG. I know the dimensions of this ground well. Going to Adelaide first, it's a nice wicket to bat down there. And then back here against the Thunder. (On Warner) He's been batting nicely, hopefully he can be quiet against us and Sixers can win.

They started well but were pegged back by Abbott as he sent Allen and Hardie packing in the same over. Fanning and Connolly kept the scoreboard ticking and added a 50+ stand but the duo too departed in successive overs. The game seemed to be done by that point but captain Turner had not given up. He picked up the odd boundary and got good support from Spoors. They stitched a 66-run stand for the 7th wicket and kept the chase alive but a good last couple of overs from Kerr and Henriques sealed the game for the home side. Early on, it was the Steve Smith show; returning to the BBL after a successful Test summer, he took his time to get going but there was no stopping him once he found his groove, he notched up his third BBL hundred and in the process took the Sixers to a massive total.
