Tim David | Player of the Match: Not in the last 15 minutes, it's nice when you get it (on the big sixes), but stoked with the win tonight. The ball comes on nicely under lights over here, didn't feel good in the first 15 balls, I played a bit away from the way I usually play at the start, but nice to get it done for the team. I'm not sure if I was building an innings, I was trying to hit the ball on the ground, but it's more fun watching the ball roll onto the roof. I said probably in the last match, I was probably the worst batter in the power surge (over the years), but when you know there are only a couple of fielders outside the ring and as CJ (Chris Jordan) said, you can take your chance if you do well in the other periods of the game. Really had to build his innings up today and get through a tough phase before cutting loose. He finishes unbeaten on 68 off just 38 and takes his side home with loads of time to spare in the end. The chase wasn't all that comfortable to start with for the Hurricanes. The openers both got off to starts but fell early. Concerningly for them, they were also without Ben McDermott who tweaked his hamstring in the field earlier. Chaudhary and David walked in a position higher and batted very sensibly. They built up a nice partnership and didn't let the pressure get to them when the Thunder's spinners were keeping it tight. Chaudhary departed after a handy knock but David found a great companion in Jordan. Once the Hurricanes took the Surge, David kicked into gear and did what he does best - pepper the stands. The game didn't last long after that for the Thunder as they failed to contain David's fireworks.
